A liberal chastising someone for not going to war sounds so lame.__Are not these the very people who used to chant "Make love not war?"__Are these not the very people who claimed they had a non violent solution to every problem?__What are we supposed to fight a war with? The guns they don't believe in us having?

Today, I have found a new cause for maintaining my physical fitness, weapons, and dving proficiency. It is not to be ready for recall (Not likely) but to be on record as being able to say "I refuse to be part of this war" Not "I am not able to be part of this war"

When we were called up following 9-11, we had a plan. It was simply a matter of executing it. From day one, the leaders in Washington sabotaged our defense plans. Assets were scrambled and moved around and / or simply not used. By the Summer of 2002, Afgahnistan was considered a victory. The critics who warned of another Soviet style defeat were lambasted as beinf pessimists, anti American, and even traitors. With Afgahnistan "Finished" Iraq was in theirr sights. The system didn't know what it wanted or needed. One moment I was being forced to retire under HYT, the next I was placed on stop loss and not allowed to retire only to be told "Why are you still here? You need to retire and get off our payroll! You are a bigger asset to the enemy due to the money you cost!" Only once again to be told "You can't retire! We are at war!". With Iraq looming on the horizon, I could not agree with this policy so I abonadoned by fight against HYT and rammed through my retirement papers.

, "Peace" is not the issue. Where and when to fight is the real issue. 9-11 should have been resolved in 3 months, six months tops. Had an all out assault been made on Tora Bora, Bin Laden would be sitting in a cell in Gitmo months after 9-11. Instead, we have shifted our focus on propping up a puppet government which will never attain the consent of the governed. While I share your opposition to the current mision, I do not share your idea of peace. Pulling out of these nations and saying your sorry will not bring peace.

Decline? Looks as though it is happening. Break up? Maybe but who knows into how many differnt nations? Such a break up will lead to a massive free for all where not only ethnic groups will vie for land into twhich they can create a Heaven or Hell of thier own but other religious, sexual, ecotopian, and other ideology groups as well.
The best we can currently hope for is a soft landing where we shift from trying to preserve the empire to liquidating it and concentrating on becomming the Republic our founders envioned in the first place.

If the Russians try and claim Alaska again, I'm sure Sarah Palin will put up a dang good fight! You betcha! (Quote)
She can always call upon her former running mate to catch one more russian missile with his tailpipe.

There is nothing to win in Afgahnistan. The world doesnt want our version of freedom which leads to drugs, gangs, preganat teens, and other depravities. Nation pride is not a reason to send more men to die.
Dump the empire.

Army Rangers are supposed to be one of the best combat troops we have. Navy EOD which I was in was, as a rule not to engage in combat. However, our team was trained by a SEAL in patrol and counter ambush tactics. While we were never givenenough time to hone these skills in order to practive them under fire, we did know what were were supposed to do in every ambush situation. I myself honed my marksmanship skills on my own time and at my own expense. The Rangers commited serious errors which my team, not a front line combat unit should have been able to do better. Tillman appeared to have done all the right things whenhe came under freindly fire and yet, his team mates performed like a group of amatuer wnnabes.

And Rome still collapsed inthe end. Viet Nam was not worth wining. We set up a corrupt government more people were willing to die against than for. Afgahnistan is the graveyard of Empires. The sooner we bury our evil empire, the better.

What exactly is defeat? The Taliban patrolling our streets forcing us all to bow Towards Mecca? This has nothing to do with our "Freedom" It is now a case of national pride. If we leave, they will be empowered. Of course they will! We are the invaders, we deserve to be repelled.
