Hi Drew, one thing that sets The Maze Runner being "atypical" from movies like "The Fault in Our Star", "The Hunger Games", "Divergent" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", for example, is the movie did not use or force teenage romantic or some variants of love triangle to fuel the story.
