I'm of two minds. about it:

- When I have someplace I need to get to, especially if it's someplace I've spent too much time in, the last thing I want is to trudge through it yet again.

- When it's someplace I have NOT spent a lot of time in, I do enjoy a nice trot through it.

But, I have to say, I'm usually the lazy sort. There's a reason I have my herth stone, my Argent Tourney Tabard and a Krin Tor ring. (though I really hate spending time in Dal. I *try* to be elsewhere, unless I have specific reasons to stay - like finding books, or looking for a raid)

Very very VERY well done. I should like a weekly (or would it be "weakly") installment!

It's better than some of the instructions I get in raids:

"OK, pulling."

BTW, I never really had a "picture" of what Chas soundslike, but I have Tam sounding like Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw (from Zero Punctuation - game reviewer) in my mind:

About the only thing I'm good at in BGs is being a distraction.

"I've often been told that you only should what you know how to do well, so that's be you. Be what you're like. Be like yourself"

And so I'm having a wonderful time DPSing in the dark. And annoying folks.

And dying. :-/ lol

(nicely written, sir!)

DKP/etc work great if you are in a full guild raid. Not so much if you need Puggers to fill the ranks. (and pretty much all I've ever done is PUG)

I think the best answer is if the shoe fits, get a second one. Erm, either that or wear it.

It seems like your guild may have a functional system, but there may be better options. I think it's only fair to require dual specers (like myself) to declare ahead of time which spec they will be rolling on. If they wait, it reallly feels like they are being opportunists.

Since all the BGs I went into (other than EotS) had both Horde and Ally tunes helping each other out, the "business" of taking care of the achie hardly impacted the game at all. We all got the Achie, and then proceeded to clobber each other. :)

Granted I had to deal with a couple "real" BG fights in order to get into a "achie friendly" BG.

And holy cow I was laughing at your proposed achie name. Hysterical!

weird, I was in a 5 Heroic a while back and someone used Drum of the Kings (don't ask why she wasted it), and my Greater Blessing of Kings did NOT overwrite it... "A spell of greater strength is already in effect" or something to that effect was all that happened. So at least in my limited exposure, the drum WAS as good as the "real" buff...

While I definitely appreciate the flexibility these buy-a-buffs allow, they really do make the Hybrid tax just that much more expensive. In many cases, there's just no reason to bring a Pally (Ret) for DPS. Auras are nice, but not game breaking, especially if you have a Pally tank or healer that can provide them.

If you don't mind a bit of grinding, I love the Nether drakes. http://www.wowwiki.com/Nether_drake They keep their heads up and have a sharkish look to them, albeit a rather cartooney shark.

For a land mount, I think the Talbuk might be OK, though Spicey Talbuk is pretty tasty, so that may not work.

I was just responding to the chap above me that implied that there *is* the right not to be offended. (that is, if I read the comment correctly)

I guess I need to remember to use the @ sign more often :(

I do NOT want anyone making a law like that. Mainly because I think much of what I think/feel/believe could be offensive to other segments of people,. :P

Nobody has the legal right NOT to be offended.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_P...

Now, that doesn't mean there are not consequences for opening your yap with a bunch of nasty tripe. There are a lot of SOCIAL "punishments" for doing os (like your teacher/grandma/etc talking to you) and if your transgression is bad enough, things can escalate (shunning and even violence)

There are a few narrow exceptions (fighting words, etc) but overall, you have the legal right to be as obnoxious as you want.

@ both Tam & Klep - You both bring this up, and Klep talks more about it.

Tam - you said "causing trouble" is frowned upon. I *kind* of disagree. Generally, teachers/etc will ignore the actual "trouble maker" (ie, Klep's instigating brother) and will only punish the "responder".

"aggressive driving" is a similar such thing (well, some times) here in the States where one slow/stupid disruption will drive in such a way to piss a lot of other drivers off. However, when der polizei respond, it's the angry drivers who get nailed, not the one who "caused" it.

But very VERY good post (as always)
