I think "The Book of Eli" is too easy - it's like using "The Passion of Christ" in a sermon. But, it is a very cool movie with an awesome message.

How about some sort of reference to "Pillar of Salt" for the movie "Salt"?

Unfortunately, "World Cupping a Church" happens all too often already. A lot happens up there, but no scores.

As for using the vuvuzelas for a Baptism - that would be awesome! Think about it...getting as excited about a new Christian as we do about a goal in a game. That's what I'm talkin' about!

Smoking was something you did in secret up north and didn't talk about.

Here in "tobacco land" (I live in Winston-Salem NC!) you have to rush past the front doors of some Church buildings to keep from smelling like smoke. The smoking crowd is often the one's that are most "in the know".

I grew up in Suburban Detroit and - yes - I too "grew up in the Church". I have lived in NC for much longer than I ever expected. Yes, I have noticed some differences:

1. Southerners love to start Church at the crack of dawn. The Church where I grew up in Trenton, MI didn't start Bible class until 10AM (worship at 11AM). If you tried that here you'd have a mass exodus the moment the Lord's Supper was over.

2. In the south Summer Camp is king for kids - in the north Winter Camp rules.

3. In the north, don't even try to go long on Sunday mornings in the fall - those who don't have tickets to day's home game will be visibly upset. Those that have tickets - well, you won't see them until February.

There's a few...
