What if the League was really behind the Joker's plot in The Dark Knight?

... think about it... in Batman Begins, Ra's plan was to create a scenario that would cause Gotham City to destroy itself and rebuild... i.e. "cleanse" the city of "evil"... what if it turns out that the Joker was sponsored by the League (just like Scarecrow and Falcone were in Begins)as a way to "destroy" Gotham... as well as to distract and discredit the Batman?

Remember... when the Joker was talking to Dent in the Hospital... he said, "Do I look like a guy with a plan? I just do" (Granted he could have been saying that to throw Dent off).

But the main reason I think the League is somehow connected to the events in the Dark Knight... is because everyone who has read the script compliments it as a perfect way of tying up this trilogy.

That would be awesome! Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the filmmakers own the rights to the character... last I heard, Kevin McClory (and now his estate) owned the rights to Blofeld and S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

I think the two characters are Catwoman and Talia... think about it... Both characters could work into capping Nolan's "trilogy". Remember, "Batman Begins" and (especially) "The Dark Knight" were heavily influenced by "The Long Halloween". In that story, Catwoman was the illegitimate daughter of Carmine Falcone... Catwoman/Selina could very well be the "love interest" and Talia al Ghul could be the "villain"... so both choices work. Thematically it really sets up a brilliant conclusion for Nolan's batfilms... "Begins" was about acceptining fear... "Knight" was about accepting escalation... and "Rises" can be about accepting legacy... Will Bruce Wayne/Batman live up to the legacy of his father (justice)? Will Selina Kyle/Catwoman be destroyed by the legacy of her father (crime)? Will Talia be consumed by the legacy of her father (revenge)?
