Hi guys,

I'm using iPhone 4 on 5.0.1. I'm planning to upgrade it to 5.1.1, but I'm wondering if I should preserve my baseband? I've been preserving 2.10.04 on this device (I don't need to unlock, but just in-case if I decided to let someone else use my phone in the future, so just taking precautionary steps), so I'm wondering if there's any significant difference in upgrading to the newer baseband? Would I get better reception, etc, aside from the cosmetic improvements due to mismatch firmware/baseband.

Thanks.

Is 2.10.04 worth preserving?

Hello people

I am planning on upgrading my iphone 4 from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. I have been preserving my baseband at 2.10.04, even though I don't really need to use the unlock. I preserved it just in case if I suddenly decided to change carrier, etc. My dilemma is whether if I should keep preserving this baseband since there still isn't any unlock available for it and it causes some strange signal reception and cosmetic problems. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'll just stick to ultrasn0w right now and see if causes any unwanted problems. Thank you.

Ya, I've tried disabling and enabling 3G, however, it didn't make any difference. I've restored the phone a couple of times now but nothing's working. :(.

Well, I'm not sure if ultrasn0w actually causes those problems (They're just mostly rumours and there's no way in confirming the validity. Some say they had problem with ultrasn0w, and some said they had no problem with it whatsoever.). But anyway, I bought my iphone 4 a long time before iphone 4s came out. :P. I've been preserving my baseband everytime I update to a new OS. Maybe I did something wrong and preserved the wrong baseband?

Anyway, so ultrasn0w is the only way to fix the signal bar problem?

Hi guys,

I'm having a weird problem with my phone. It shows that I have 0 reception signal but everything is working fine, I'm able to send text, place call, etc. I'm currently using iPhone 4 on 5.0.1 (2.10.04 firmware) jailbreak. I've tried restoring the phone, reset network setting, deactivate my phone with redsnow to no avail.

The only solution that "worked" is by installing ultrasn0w. However, I don't need to unlock my phone, and I would like to avoid installing things that might cause issues to my phone. I've heard that ultrasn0w drains battery, causes reception problem (Both calls and text) and such.

Is there anything I can do to fix the signal bar problem?

Thank you.
