So for you people sitting in front of your computers with your rantings of church and non-church issues, It is simple....If this country could come together, not just from an economical stand point but also from a stand point that everyone should have the same rights as everyone else, whether you agree or disagree with their sexual preference or not. We need to stop trying to live everyone elses lives for them, live our own lives and let the people of the LGBT community get married if they want. I had a shirt once that said, "Against gay marraige? DON'T MARRY ONE." It is as simple as that. Keep your christian/LDS/baptist or whatever else believes for you and your own family and I will keep my "Gay" beliefs for my own family. We never asked you to agree with what we are, we just asked to have the same right that you have, To marry!!!!
To monika-This couple does not just live together. THEY ARE A FAMILY. They are raising a child together. One of them carries the other on her insurance policy. (NOT SOMETHING THAT ROOMMATES/FRIENDS DO). They aren't "friends" living together and asking for a hand out. They are a family, a couple, and if they could be legally married in the state of idaho, I ASSURE YOU THAT THEY WOULD BE. Not only can they not get married in the state of idaho but now they are having their ability to be called a family questioned by the rec center. I will tell you now that my sister has a pass to the rec center. When she went in to sign up, they did not ask any questons, no marriage license was asked for.
They didn't ask for special rights. They asked for the rec center to honor what they told them over the phone. The girls were told that if they could show that one depended on the other, like a "straight/married" couple could that they would allow a membership. One of the girls carried the other on her insurance as a dependent for over a year through her place of work. They had paperwork showing that. In order to be placed on that insurance they had to provide proof of joint account and written documentation that they had lived together for a certain length of time. So, ITS DISCRIMINATION..........NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT.
