no joe, please don't go! Seriously, you don't need to bow out--unless you're just bored ;)

I agree joe--if that were the case.

You don't get a return on the investment if you have to pay 60% of your income to Uncle Sam.

Furthermore, the government shouldn't be artificially creating the risk. The risk already lies in the free market system. If you place burdensome taxes on business, they not only have to play Russian roulette in order to create jobs, but then when the risk pays off, they have to give the 'pay off' to the government. Now how is that incentive to grow business???

And Wall Street is also ARTIFICIAL when it's being bailed out by tax dollars. No taxpayers are bailing my father out. Thank the Clinton administration for the present environment on Wall Street. Government bails out BIG BUSINESS--and it's usually the liberals who win elections lambasting 'Big Business'.

Thanks for your concern. Having a businessman as a father, I think I'm operating on more information than the average voter my age. I'm not yet 30 years old--and most of my peers are Obama-crazy. None of them talk to business owners---unless they are talking to personal injury lawyers--because they are completely oblivious to how this is affecting the economy. It's nothing short of tragic.

My dad didn't disclose anything--nor would he. My dad has never told me how much he makes and is uncomfortable with me knowing what is in his bank account--I'm only making an educated guess. All I know is that the tax bill ate up most, if not all of their savings--and I accidentally saw their bank account figures a few years ago...so again, just a guess. And yes, he owns several warehouses and retail stores statewide. Furthermore, my parents (the s-corp) pay 60% of their income to Uncle Sam. Yay--return on the investment? Hardly.

I agree, Jeanette...sometimes people need help--and they take it wherever they can get it. I myself, have not exhausted other possibilities--but I'm not too proud to get help. I just see all the taxes my father pays, and for what? I don't want to be that burden on him, or others--When my dad pays taxes, we lose jobs--and then it's a vicious cycle.

I hear you...and I guess all we CAN do is pray, right? Thanks for your prayers.

My father has an army of accountants and lawyers---but I do appreciate the help! He's in an S-corporation--so basically the government taxes him personally based on what the entire company makes...I think that's how it works.

for owning a business----for employing people--you get taxed in this country.

I'm really sorry to hear that Jeanette. The nail in the coffin? The economic policies of this administration.

You'll get on your feet again. We have to think positive in order to get through this. Right now my husband and I are trying to get through school. We have been relying heavily on my parents to do so without debt. This is the last year they can assist us. We've been able to save some money (not much, certainly not enough)--and have a good amount of food storage---but we just moved to TN for grad school and my husband cannot find work. He's been looking for only 3 weeks (but many of course look much longer than that). I'm presently trying to figure out what I can do to bring in some income (I stay at home with our three children). WE WILL NOT TAKE STATE ASSISTANCE---I know many do, and many don't have any other resources---but we have yet to exhaust all of our resources--and when you accept help from the state, you only burden someone else.

How have you guys gotten through the last 2 years?

wouldn't it be GRAND if this inept administration set aside the mundane and irrelevant issues of the day---and focus on giving relief to those growing the economy?

In a perfect world.
