I took my kids to this Sunday afternoon and they were very inspired by all that people have done with zines. Of course it's been too hot to answer that inspiration with anything but popsicles, but maybe next week they'll make their own little zines.

This is so funny because I just parked there today for the first time in like 8 years. I hate it! I always park on the street when I go there for readings. As I signaled to turn in, I said to my boys: "Ready for the scariest parking garage ever?" They asked what I meant. Then they knew.

The attendant was perfectly nice, though.

I'll never get the book read by July 1st. Can I come anyway and just pretend I read it? I'm a pretty good faker.

I was so going to go to this, but 6:00 on the west side on a weeknight? I was kidding myself.

So, that's looking like a thumbs-up for Fishtrap, eh, Liz? If you were there last year there were probably people you knew at the reading, judging from the hugging and laughter among audience members after the reading. (I'll be posting my review of Into the Beautiful North on Worducopia later this week.)
