Apparently they're not big enough smarties themselves to prevent Smarties confusion. xD

Further proof that God has a sense of humor: when that happens, they both always hit their funny bone. B)

I went to a Christian college and we used to joke that sex was the only four letter word with three letters. To this day, I feel like it's still like that. I agree we need a way to promote marital sex, rather than just speak against pre-marital sex. Neon-awesome doesn't even begin to describe marital sex. I'd say more, but that might be too much info.. ;-)

The first Sunday we visited the church we attend now, it was announced that the interim pastor was being made the permanent pastor. I remember thinking: "Okaaaayyy, I guess it's a good thing whatever it was is resolved...." Thirteen years later we're members and have lots of great friends that mean more than who is leading or preaching or singing on Sunday morning.

I love that quote. I did a little digging and everything I've seen attributes it to Reinhold Niebuhr.

If that's all it means to be a Christian, then I don't want to be a Christian either. I hope she has found a community of believers who are for Christ and not just against the problems in society. Kudos to Rice for pointing out one of the big problems with the Church, which is that we don't proclaim Christ as much as we try to guilt trip society into change.

(I do think being against secular humanism as a philosophy is important, we just shouldn't revile secular humanists which we unfortunately do in a lot of cases.)

I thought it was ESPN giving LeBron James his own hour long show to announce where he was going to sign a contract to play basketball. Talk about self important ego worship!

The only way I can make sense of it is to say that in the end, in every situation God will bring glory to himself. What might seem to us to be bad things are really good things in the end. Take the story of Joseph in Genesis for example. I'm sure he didn't think the things that were happening to him were good, but in the end many people were saved, and God got all the glory. I mean who would have thought that Joseph could have become as close to Pharaoh as you can get?

I guess what I'm saying is that we have to remind ourselves that our circumstances seem bad, but that's viewing them from our tiny perspective, not God's perspective.
