I'd really like to read this book because it's far more effective to get insights on leadership (or any other skill for that matter) from someone's example.

INTJ as well. It drives people at work nuts since they're very much "feelers" :)

Generally what prevents me from speaking up is just being tired of being called a big meanie; I work in an environment with a lot of very sensitive people who don't take any sort of assertive attitude well, so there's a lot of time spent trying to "gently nudge" people when sometimes they need a shove, y'know?

12 minutes away from finishing the audiobook; getting a kick out of it, Jon. Great stuff.

This sounds like an interesting read - I've been reading a number of leadership and work culture books over the last year, such as Why Work Sucks (and How to Fix It), Fake Work, Trophy Kids, etc... I'm really intrigued to see if the concepts line up and how they might be used to help not only me, but my coworkers find some enjoyment from their careers.

Great questions, Michael. I took a stab at answering them here: http://hardwords.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/conside...

Thanks for taking the time to pose these questions.

Funny, I just read a book by Marva Dawn (In the beginning, God). Was not super-impressed. A few good bits, some incredibly confusing language (in that I can't tell if she means what it sounds like she's saying) and a very liberal use of the word "milieu."

Sounds like a nice variety of books. Let me know how "The Unnecessary Pastor" is.
