As I have mentioned in my other posts I have 4 children ( ages 11 to 1 with another on the way). I am very proud of the fact that my oldest 3 kids watch the news with me and understand what they are hearing and can hold a conversation with an adult on current issues. Yesterday the kids and I were having a picnic at our local city park/playground and ended up sharing a picnic bench area with another family. THe kids and I were dicussing how the world views Israel when the other mom said "aren't they too young to be thinking/talking about such heavy "adult" things?". It is sad that today's society tends to "dummy-down" our kids. they have brains, let your kids have the chance to use them. that is why I am so happy to see younger people taking a stand and participating in tea parties. We need the younger generation to make their voices heard, I hope to see many teenagers and young adults get out there and take a stand with us.

Now I see that some of the many morons in D.C. want to basically adopt international law. Some of these laws forbid homeschooling (Germany is 1 example). It is bad enough that we have problems with a number of judges, social workers and politicians when it comes to our right as parents to home school. I gave birth to my children, they are a blessing from God given to me and my husband, they live in our home, we care for them and see to their every need. This family is never in need or want for anything, we are not in debt up to our eyeballs, we can afford to have as many kids as we want AND to educate them ourselves. NO ONE has the right to take away OUR RIGHTS AS PARENTS. MY family has fought, died and sacrificed for this country for many generations. We came here (to VA) with some of the early settlers as indentured servants, worked off our servitude, owned property between VA and TX. I proudly served my country in the Navy and continue to serve as a Navy wife. My family did not fight for so long to have our basic rights as parents taken away bit by bit.

After having our 2 oldest kids in public school for a few years, we decided that the teachers,etc. that we entrusted our children with were not cutting it and in essence "fired them" and started homeschooling. Our oldest was being pushed to the side because she had the nerve to have an opinion and asked questions while our son was being coddled because "he's so cute" and had speech problems. Their expectations of him were low because they had decided that he could only go so far. Meanwhile my daughter was constantly being told her thoughts and opinions were wrong. Their actions were telling her that she was not good enough, ex. she was above reading level and was ahead in other subjects but she was not put in advanced classes even though she more than qualified according to city grading standards. My son was put into special ed. class without our knowledge. The list goes on. My children now (also child #3) are 2 grades ahead on their schooling and ace their state tests. They get a broad education from me and the rest of my family ( hubby, grandparents,etc.) many of whom have been teachers.
