I am disheartened by the naivete shown by most of the people who post here. To begine with, the McCartney era was an anomoly, a perfect storm if you wll. Those results wont be duplicated again in our lifetime regardless of who is the head coach. The real problem is the culture. How bad does the university, the town , the state want a national contender? Do they want it bad enough to change laws? Do they want it bad enough to spend the money?, bad enough to lower admission standards? If the awnser to any of these questions was, yes we want it so bad we can taste it then the program has a chance. Having said that, it is still a crap shoot. Observe Notre Dame, their alumni,their boosters, want it badly and are willing to fork over the money in persuit of a great team and still they have come up on the short end. Save your angst ridden posts and just hope for the best, because untll hell has a 999 zip CU will be mediocrity personified.
