WHY WHY WHY??? I was such fan of Natalie Portman until I read this. Why can't hollywood stars just do what they do best? I'm sure Natalie's Ivy league education makes her somehow superior to me, but since we poor underlings can't make educated decisions for ourselves I guess its a good thing we've got all these Ivy league geniuses to pontificate on all the things we're doing wrong. I'm sure its just a matter of time until they get the whole government thing right too, I mean they've only had the last 30-50 years or so. But they're smarter than me, so I'll just sit here and try not to drool on myself.

Sadly, I must agree with you both. We need to find a way to hold these people immediately accountable. Perhaps make their paychecks commensurate with their approval levels? Although, then it would be an even bigger popularity contest...no easy answers here.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually (kinda) agree with you. While you and I probably starkly disagree on the constitutionality of medicare or the so-called 'public option' government healthcare; 1900 pages of ANYTHING reeks of bureaucratic nonsense and portends of rampant corruption.
Hey genius, research your subject next time. The military heathcare system is designed to do exactly what you say doesn't happen. Veterans who serve with honor get heathcare through Tricare and the VA, unless of course our elected heroes decide to skim a little more of the defense budget off for their pet projects (like they've alredy done). Would you like to recant or amend your statement? I'll wait here while you work up a rebuttal.
