Don't forget Keith David's stunning turn as Keith the Southwood Carpenter in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood of Make believe.

Seriously, was watching re-runs of Mr. Rogers with my 2 year old, and there he was! It was from sometime in the 80's, but it still surprised me.

I now know why my mom liked the show when I was a kid. It's nice & quiet, and pretty educational, versus the hyper edit, loud, neurotic garbage coming out today.

As a graduate of a Marianist college prep and Jesuit college,I, too, thank you, Mr. Moriarity, for this piece.

I must say that I was astounded (and properly warned by my father) by the liberalism of some of the Jesuits who taught me in college. Political speeches, VERY liberal, by my freshman year theology teacher, a priest, got me riled. I finally had to call bs on him knowing my grade could be at stake. After he condescendingly said I was giving President Reagan's opinion, I let him have it saying "No! That is my opinion!"

But he fully respected it. And I believe it actually helped my grade, as I was not sitting on my hands scared like the rest of the class.

The reason I mention this is not to praise myself, but because this was likely the last time I had a respectful reaction from a liberal when arguing their position. It helped me learn more than whatever else was taught in the class. Dancin' Don and I got along great after that and taught me that people could disagree and still not only have respect for one another, but be friends.

A far cry from what happens in today's society, as demonstrated by the thugs in Wisconsin.

The "Dancing with the Stars" link has me wondering:

Is Chaz Bono going to lead?

So much for this being a "family show" if they go into the explanations of that situation.

Anyone else here seen the 1964 remake of The Killers with Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Angie Dickinson and Ronald Reagan in his last role?

I enjoyed the hell out of it the one time I was able to watch it.

Candidly confused by the negative hits on me here. I love The Who and Pete's work more than any other. I just stated a comment on what Pete viewed of his own playIng in relation to John and Keith. There is nothing better than the inimitable sound of his guitar (Roadrunner at the Pontiac Silverdome anyone?) And then disagreed with the ludicrous comp of Pete v Polanski. Is it because I cast a little doubt on the intention of his web visits?

I don't give a rats about points. I care about whether I made my thoughts and intents clear. There are few bigger fans of Pete than me.

You are correct and Townshend will agree with you on the "lead" versus "rhythm" guitar players. I remember an interview with him where he stated as much and that Entwhistle and Moon being the lead musicians more than he.

While not an apologist for his actions, which disappoints me to no end, the comparison of him hitting the internet for child porn versus the Polanski drugging and sodomizing an early teen is pretty strong.

I have a hard time believing Pete's explanation of the events.

Kudos on the series! I look forward to the rest.

And I agree with OHMSS. Great entry, though I love all in this first series. The fruit analogy is new to me, but perfect.

Only slightly off topic: The Ninth Configuration by WPBlatty is a movie I enjoy tremendously and dont hear anything about. Faith is also a key element.

I find it hilarious at points around its serious subject. It has some of the funniest lines ever.

I am curious what others think of this film?
