The Wilpons have no clue on how to run a franchise. They don't care about the history and tradition of the Mets they care about getting rich. Baseball is not a game for the fans anymore, it's a business for the rich to get richer.
Oh and the foul poles are orange, finally a Met color. Yes the ballpark is beautiful and an upgrade over Shea but you knew Shea belonged to the Mets. I'm not sure who citifield belongs to, the dodgers, the NY baseball Giants, Jackie Robinson, do the Mets simply rent time there, kind of like the Jets playing home games at Giants Stadium. And finally, I know it's a miniscule detail but the moron who designed the 2009 inaugural patch the Mets wear on their uniform should be fired. That has to be the ugliest, plainest, cheapest ( to bad tickets to the new ball park aren't as cheap) uniform patch I've ever seen. The boyscouts make better patches than the Mets. I looked at the Yankee 2009 inaugural patch and I looked at the Mets patch side by side and once again I see the Mets are saying we are second class.__
New ball park, new home same old Mets. The Mets and fans complain of always taking a back seat to the Yankees and we do but it's because of the Mets ownership. Ownership acts like they are the second team in the city. Wilpon should have just built the new stadium in Brooklyn at the sight of the original Ebbets field. Citi Field is a retrospective look at yet another NY team, the Brooklyn Dodgers. I'm all for paying homage to the historic teams of NY's past but how bout honoring the team that is actually going to play at the stadium. They have the Shea apple you say. I for one always hated that cheesy apple but is that the best moment from Mets history. How bout the 69 Mets or the 73 Mets or the 87 Mets.
