You are assuming an awful lot from just the few lines of this story. Your apparent misogynistic attitudes must stem from too many unhappy relationships. I am not an exception at all. You are perhaps choosing women who conform to your already low opinion of them and overlooking the MANY others who are lovely
both inside and out. You get what you pay for.
Do you ever get tired of your own misogyny??????? He's not a stupid sucker or deceived by a manipulating woman; he's just a sociopath (or worse). She's the stupid one for staying with a man like that for two years.. Yes, Adam and Eve is indeed another story.
I especially love to read and re-read The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid (which is Roman but with Greek counterpart deities). The gods behave like crazy humans and the crazy humans behave like they're gods. A good message lasts through the centuries. I won't stoop to the Doctor/God jokes, but powerful church leaders sometimes seem to act like demi-gods or assume God speaks through them. I think that's part of Mary's complaint.
Again, another point of agreement. We are made in God's image and should strive to be like Him (not that we can, but we have to try).I hate it when someone like the bikini Burger King brawler is called an "animal." That insults animals who often behave better than most people.
But the Olympians and the lessers behaved horribly. Remember the rape of Leda by the Swan (Zeus) as just one example of their moral depravity. They were jealous, petty, squabbling, selfish, etc. Not a good example for mankind to emulate or praise in worship. God is without flaw.
You believe "Mary sees the truth and light only" because your opinion and hers coincide on this issue. But there are others who could say the devil is having a field day with her head. Like opinions, everyone has their own version of the truth. By the way, I can name way more than 12 Greek deities, unless you are refering to the 14 Olympians minus Kronos and Rhea. As a kid, I practically memorized Edith Hamilton's Mythology. And I'm pretty good with the Egyptian pantheon as well. For me, I just want ONE God the Father, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.
How about a Good Will store and a soup kitchen for the homeless next to the petting zoo?
I can agree with the "deeds" part but don't discount the power of prayer. The old saying is "Put feet to your prayers."
