I agree.

Really? I am not a pot user but i can say this outlook is unreasonable. We do not need to worry about placing pot into evidence (unless it is a whole lot). Just this alone will save hundred of thousands dollars in labor for LEO's (law enforcement officer). Also, proceeding with a DWAI on a traffic stop where we smell pot can be essentially ignored - another huge time saver. Legalizing pot will save countless hours in LEO labor. But, since that is considered a soft cost savings, and does not stuff cash into the Colorado coffers, it is ignored. The legalization of pot will save tons of money in law enforcement - we need to consider the reduction of pot related investigations in 2013 vs 2012 before we say it "does not pay for itself".

I do not like the whole pot thing but any tax exceeding regular sales tax is simply ludicrous. We should tax political greed. That would bring in some real cash.

As a LEO myself, this is shocking. What happened to being held to a higher standard? No, there should be no deals here. It will make all of us appear like a bunch of above the law yahoos.

I'll buy a permit. I will be nice and only use 10 round mags so as not to offend any Boulderites.

I agree completely. With over 800 monitor violations per month alone, there is not enough staff to go around. Not by a long shot.

Sound too much like the "final solution" for comfort to me.
