I don't ski- so I don't give a crap about any of this- but he/she brings up a very valid point. The privileged ones are often the teeny-boppers in their early 20's who's parents are paying out of state tuition b/c their kids had no idea what to do with their lives besides wear Ugg boots and baseball caps. We all know what the masses of CU students do to this town overall every single year. The ones with a brain are the older ones who've matured a little bit, and probably need to work through school and are the ones who'd really benefit from the "student" discount. I also get it- even as a non-student, I simply can't afford to ski b/c I never got the gear and I can't afford it, and there are lots of other things to do in this town. Skiing is ultimately a luxury, the price of it being a 1st world problem. And Eldora can ultimately do what they want, but they need to rename the discount. If you're 27 and a full time student- and you can't get the "student" discount- then it's not a student discount, plain and simple. I will be daring- how about they change the policy to - full time students only with no kids. B/c if you have a kid, and decided to go to school full time, you clearly have money to execute those two decisions at the same time. Bring the thumbs down in 3...2...
