I am quite a thrifty sewer for instance, I only buy patterns when they are on sale and use a lot of free patterns. The big reason is that I'm a student and I don't have a big budget, so I look out for deals and only buy the cheaper fabrics (I don't scrimp too much on quality either). Most of my fabric has come from the clearance table!
I sometimes add up the cost of each individual project. My latest was a lined dress and I think that was about $19.50 NZD which is £10 for everything.

I think all of those options are smart (except maybe the gathered skirt -too much altering for different sizes!) ideas for makes when your weight is fluctuating. Another option would be fit and flare dresses, if they get a little too big around the waist, that is what belts are for! Another style that could work would be a simple elasticated waist dress, like this http://images.lover.ly/40238_alice-olivia-coby-op...

It looks best with some colour. Perhaps not that red skirt (due to the double bow) but another brightly coloured skirt may look nice. Hmmm. I think the problem is the baggy looking sleeves and such a high neckline. High neckline + baggy sleeves/fit = frumpy and can give the impression of your bust going from your neck to your waist (it does on me at least). Could you make it more fitted? It would be lovely then!

It's so pretty (ignoring the urge to fangirl and put lots of exclamation marks)! The version you described for your wedding receptions sounds amazing. Are you wearing a different dress for the ceremony and reception?

Awesome swimsuit, I love the purple. I'm glad to hear that swimsuit sewing isn't as hard as it looks, I've always been too nervous to make some from scratch so I've only altered swimsuit straps before!

That's such a neat idea, I want to join in with things like this and Me Made May but I have to wear school uniform :/
I love the floral skirt in the day two look and all your jewellery is so pretty :)
