Exactly. Moe has gotten away from me, and I have nightmares about it all the time. My heart breaks for these and all families who have lost a child in this way.

This could be my son. We are constantly having to figure out new ways to childproof the house, new kinds of door locks, etc. We are as vigilant as we can be, but everyone goes to sleep. Everyone goes to the bathroom. And for those of us whose children need 24 hour supervision, even one minute could mean a child that has gone missing. It could be any of our kids. And it is so so scary.

I have so many..but here's a recent one. Just got a brand new ipad to use as Moe's talker (AAC device). Yesterday was our first training session with the SLP. I dropped the ipad *getting out of the car.* Fortunately, only the case got a little scuffed up :)

In all seriousness, I do think we need a lot more awareness, and acceptance, and humor and joy and all the rest of it. If blue gives me a chance to talk about things to people who aren't otherwise listening, then it could be a good thing. But ultimately, it is about getting the best for my son, and the adult he will someday be, and that is much bigger than a blue lightbulb.
