Wow, how did you make yourself finish? I hate bad editing. Well that and awful covers. I read a lot of audiobooks and repetitive use of use of phrasing is really noticeable in that format. I was reading a book the other day that was brilliant in EVERY other way except for one fight scene where the heroine swung her sword to warm up her wrists four times. It worked once, the fact that it was allowed to get put in four times is on the editor not the author (well, okay it's kind-of on the author but I'm still blaming the editor).

And Kyla - I completely agree. If I can bear to put a book down it's not going to get that great a rating from me. Series that get recs from me are series that I almost can't stop myself from immediately going onto the next book when I finish the one I'm reading.

@EdynzTybe - interesting point re negative reviews. In all honesty I sit firmly on the fence when it comes to negative reviews. I don't mind writing them (and have on my goodreads profile frequently) but they're not what I want to publish in my blog. Part of that is for purely selfish reasons. Writing a review for my blog takes about an hour at this stage. So if I don't like a book then I don't want to spend the time reviewing it - I'd prefer to just move onto the next book. :) My review of Stone Cold Seduction is probably the most negative I am willing to go on the blog, and yes, I have I've written back to authors saying sorry this isn't good enough to go on the blog.

@ Erika - I hate it when one element of a book ruins it for you. I'm reading a book at the moment which has a great central plot line, fantastic lead characters with great chemistry and then the author goes and throws in a talking cat who smokes cigars and drinks scotch. Seriously - WTF?

I haven't actually read Brenda Novak before. She's down on my list of authors to check out but I just haven't gotten there yet.

Nice choice - I love Jason Mamoa. I'm actually surprised his name hasn't come up before now in this weeks FF posts.

Great choice of Candace Bergen for Mayor Marsha!!! I don't read YA but I'm not surprised that the Vampire Academy is a popular choice amongst ya readers this week.

I'm still following along. Happy follow friday!

I remember some discrete sexuality themes but not homosexuality but then I was a young girl myself when I read it.

I think we're all just waiting on the finale to come... I've loved the way I've never been able to predict when we'll get answers in this series. Personally I think that there will be a hook in the finale that leads into season 7.

I love LotR. Particularly if I could make my way to the wonderful libraries you know the elves have (well they're not using them anymore are they????)

Hopping (and still following) through…

I don't really have anything about myself in the intro either. It's more of a statement of what I want to achieve with the blog. I have noticed thought that when I go check out other peoples blog I instantly go to the about page and see a. that they're over 18 and b. that they don't review only YA which seems to be the trend in a lot of blogs. So I probably need to update mine so that I have similar info on there (yours was dead easy - the over 18 blurb right at the top clarified matters :)

That is some list - agree with you on the Mercy Thompson world though. It would be nice to imagine that Adam is out there…

Happy FF!
