Hi Ania. You have to bring your own Pirate gear. There are little bits for sale in the gift shop on the boat, but they are quite expensive. Some of the stores in port carry a lot of items as well.

I thought maybe the wait would be better off-season Mary. Still bad? That does 'S'uck. We'll have to show up at Disneyland at the same time one day and have a family vs. family race. Loser buys milkshakes!

A) Winter? The snow stopped about an hour after we left home and didn't start again until the last hour and a half of the drive home (which was a complete whiteout blizzard). The West Coast doesn't seem to do winter in my observations.
B) I did enjoy getting to try different hotels outside of the major cities. We only had a week total for this trip though, so maybe you're right about taking more time. We're going to Vancouver next month. Maybe I'll stop in Merritt and Hope for overnight stays.

The rough moments do make for great stories, but over 5000 miles I'd have more than enough stories for a lifetime. I'll stick to my "The Coke wasn't cold enough" stories from airlines.

I think electronics have really increased my road trip range, but like all things I guess there's a limit to how far I can take things. I think I'll leave trips over 6 hours to the professionals.

The irony is that I wrote that while staying home on a long weekend. Of course, we traveled the weekend before and the weekend after, but I still felt like I was breaking some kind of rule.
