Prior to now, I never knew that there was a fear of umbrellas. So you can market your blog as educational as well as artistic and informative. Oh, and I'm going to start saying I'm afraid of umbrellas, because I leave mine every-dang-where, but never have it when it's raining.

I'm very, very ashamed at my inability to cut along a straight edged ruler now. I was ashamed before, but now I just feel like the most ridiculous adult on the planet. Seriously? He's amazing.

You (and a whole bunch of other people) tried to do an awesome thing. It's still awesome- it's just a different awesome thing now.
Also? I think Kyle kind of sucks. I think he's a teenaged scam artist who is looking to get something for nothing and who knows how to play on heartstrings, and I bet you're not the first person he's tried to con out of money. If he thought you were going to give him a job, and meeting you was an "interview" of sorts, blowing that off to chill with his friends (if any of this sob story from him was true), he clearly isn't going to have a very good work ethic when he actually does need the money. /rant
