Very powerful writing.
You and your wife. You're okay, right?

I'll check out your story. Mine is at http://thethingthatisthething.wordpress.com. It ain't much. And I can't promise I'll finish what you've got any time soon.
But if it means that much to you, then by all means, write. Get it out of your head. Only then can it begin to grow . . .

I'm also quite certain that I'm a mediocre dad.
And yet I write. Not often. Not without cliche or hyperbole. Not perfectly. But I write. I don't get my kids most days, and I have worn a spot from scratching my head so much.
Ron, there is no way in hell this one particular fella can derail your plans. Opportunities are limitless right now, and you're niche awaits in one venue or another. And if there is no fit, then I have confidence that you will pave your own trail. You're that good. And I'm not just saying that. You know my heart . . .
So write on. When you feel like it. Otherwise? Live.
Peace, out.

We are fortunate that he's never been in a fight. There have been times where hauling off and slugging a kid would have been more than justified. But he just chose not to go there. He internalizes like that, preferring to keep it bottled up, and then take it out on some green dude in a video game or a pile of sticks in the yard.
Interesting times, these . . .
Great post.
