Or, y'know, why I get eye-level with folks in mobility devices or kids or well, anyone lower down than I am. It's a hell of a lot easier to hold a conversation at eye level. My family thinks I'm nuts because I spent a lot of time on my knees with my nieces, but it puts us all at the perfect height and despite them being small people-in-training, they're still people and their feelings matter. They GET this, too, because while some people will get their knees hugged, they wait until I'm right down there for a big bear hug and that's the best.

I sent a message to you + Mel, though 99% of my time in Nerdlandia is spent here so I might not see the response immediately. I'll be lookin though! Thank you. :)

To me it's more of a "Hey, if your partner physically cannot do a thing and you can make it more accessible, do so, okay?" reminder. I'm still pretty heartsore over how ignored I was even while he insisted he wanted my presence.

I got short because the multiple (there were multiple) points of advice, and he shut every single one down or didn't even address them, and used "tried it once, didn't work" or "DNL says don't do it on (this article that actually says YES do it)".
I guess if someone's ready to immediately dismiss anything I say when they say they're here for advice, I... stop believing they're here for advice. Especially when they KEEP doing it, or ignore anything you say and just keep saying it's impossible because of (thing you JUST said wasn't impossible).
