It might be interesting to see how Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota does through their transition from John Piper to Jason Meyers. If it's successful, then maybe a study to see where that success came from because you know Piper's DNA is all over that church. And just maybe John Piper had Desiring God ministries where he poured out his personality but kept the church more in balance with many pastors and speakers and not just one so the focus wasn't always fully upon himself.

If something excites you, your gonna give thanks in your own special way. I thought this was a perfect prayer. God is pleased when His children are blessed and thankful for His blessings. Some people are too reverent. I remember David dancing naked because the ark had been returned and his wife threw a fit. Same thing. Let us give thanks exuberantly and joyfully. I especially liked the smoking hot wife part. It's time that Christians start showing the way. He's proud to be married and loves who he's married to.

Truly a prayer of thanks and joy! Was it an invocation though? Not really. But I think the racers will remember this for a long time and might actually spark some interest in the reality of a relationship with God!

Ha ha ha, I met Rob Frazier on a flight from Dallas to Nashville back in '97. I asked him if he was heading to Nashville to be a star and he asked me if I had ever heard of Petra. My mouth dropped. He gave my buddy and me a CD of The Things I say and signed it too. I'll never forget that. I wonder if he remembers.

Very cool you got to hang with him. Ya'll know how to throw a concert, not just a moment with a few songs huh?

Deep question and plenty of people have thoughts. So my thoughts is this. Sure fear is ok.
Psalm 9:10 and Psalm 111:10 both say "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". Most people don't come to the saving knowledge of God because they love Him. How can you love someone before you know who they are. But to fear His greatness and His wrath is much easier.
Should we use fear to motivate folks to give their life to Christ. Whatever means it takes I say.There are those that are hardheaded and need to fear the Lord to be moved. There are those who easily love and don't need to be motivated by fear. One of you other commentators said its a both/and situation. I agree.
