Thanks for the link to The Lifecycle of Software Objects. It was a really interesting read. It's been a while since I've read a short story that left me with so much to think about afterwards.

Actually I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't been ruined by being made into a SyFy Channel Original or some such thing yet.

I saw a mail truck come down our cul-de-sac, spin around on the ice and leave around 10 AM. The mail usually doesn't usually run in this neighborhood until 2 or 3 PM. I guess that was our delivery for the day.
