I posted a comment the other day disagreeing with you in regards to the feminist movement causing men to go ahead of women to the life boats.

This though, I agree with you on 100%. Everyone deserves the chance at life, and who are we to decide who lives and dies?

People often think the feminist movement to be a bad one, but before that movement happened, women were not allowed to vote, they had no property rights, husband had legal power over and responsibility for their wives to the extent that they could imprison or beat them with impunity, divorce and child custody laws favored men, giving no rights to women, most jobs were closed to women, and what jobs were available women were paid only a fraction of what men earned, women had no means to gain an education since no college or university would accept women students, etc. I am glad to live in a country that allows me the ability to get an education, and if, heaven forbid my husband died, the ability to get a good paying job to make ends meet. As to what happened with the cruise ship I don't think it fair to blame the feminist movement. I think it has to do with how we're raising our children. Most younger generations do not think about the elderly, the disabled, or the young, they think about themselves.
