Praying for you and your surgery to be truly successful, Lori. God uses doctors every day for His glory!! This will be a praise report soon! Thanks for letting us know.

This is good! I'm not a mom yet (I cannot wait to be!!), but I do try to be the wife and keeper of the home that the Lord and my husband would be proud of. You make a great point about stay at home women needing to be very mindful of expenses and trying to be wise with the money our husbands work hard to make. I feel that I'm much more organized with this and cooking abundantly more now than I did when I was working full time. I find fulfillment in this role at home and while I'm still active in church, I don't wear myself out anymore. (Although I have to say the only reason I had to work so hard before was to get my wonderful hubby through school. Now he is more than happy to have the role of sole provider!)
Thanks for the Joyce Meyer quote, too. She is one wise lady!

Leslie
Yum! I need to check out your recipes. The burrito bar sounds like a fun idea when we have friends over, too! I like your meal planning approach for a more organized week. Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Leslie
The dressing recipe looks wonderful as does her salad! Thanks for sharing what she learned in Europe, and I completely agree what she says! :)

I'm the first born, and I can relate to this! Over the past couple of years I've recognized that unfortunately I can be controlling with the closest people in my life. :( I didn't realize it until I got married....and yes, I've prayed for the Lord to help me with this and He is. Growing up --even now--I've always felt responsible for my younger siblings. A "mothering" of sorts. That can be a wonderful thing, but it doesn't translate well in marriage! (lol!) My husband is the youngest child and we've discussed together the differences in being oldest vs. youngest. He is very patient with me and so is the Lord as I grow in trusting others more. :)

Leslie
I really admire Robin! It's very evident she knows the Lord!! She is quite a light on t.v. that shines the love of Jesus to everyone around her, and I am glad you highlighted her and her story.
Blessings,
Leslie
Wow, you're right, his story is incredible and full of hope. Apparently his mother didn't settle, but instead worked with the means she had (working legs and arms, it doesn't take much) to do what was best to get her children in a better situation. It sounds like she was quite the unselfish mother! Good for her!! I would love to see someone like him in office: Brains, determination and character!!!

Thanks for letting us know about this show, because if it's anywhere similar to Downton, I'm sure to love it!!! My mom has always been a homemaker/stay-at-home mom, and I guess naturally that what I've always wanted. After working my wonderful hubby through school, I'm now at home living my dream as keeper of the house and stay-at-home wife! :) I'm so fulfilled in this roll, as I know this is where the Lord wants me. I open my home to friends and family for coffee and muffins or dinner on a regular basis! I am availible to be more involved in church than ever before and more organized at the house! I know not every woman chooses this route, but as a former working woman I can say although now I don't get paid in dollar bills, being a homemaker is truly worth much more to our little family! (Especially when our baby gets here!)

Leslie
This is great marriage advice! Thanks for shedding light on a common situation most couples face.

Great post! I love Joyce Meyers, and her testimony is so powerful! I'm still learning, but I do know now that praying for my husband is waaaay more effective than anything else. I love to honor him, affirm him and never talk bad about him to anyone at all! This is a real marriage build or break concept. Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Leslie
