I second Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl (I have previously stated my adoration for Working Girl on the Toast), as well as Full Bars.
"HELEN HUNT!"
Something about watching the tops of those trucks and buses get shaved off was deliciously satisfying.
I'm going to use this discussion of Trading Places to opportunistically bring up my favorite 1980s cinematic takedown of Wall Street, Working Girl, for the sole purpose of reminding everyone that it is the greatest.
They are! Side effects have died down so the only outstanding issue is consequences on my sex life (which I am still feeling out). The medication really does help me just..not give a fuck.. About social interactions, screwing up at work, things that might go wrong in the future...it's really refreshing.
I started antidepressants two weeks ago, and today was the first morning I forgot to take my pill so I have an accidental morb!
I JUST started the Manson series this morning, but the whole podcast is very very good. The Liz Taylor and Marlene Dietrich episodes ahve been highlights for me.
I hate the word wheelhouse, but if I were to have such a thing, this would be in it.
I am refusing to read this but I have so many reactions to the excerpts I've read here so I think the one I will publicly post is just [silent, unending scream].
As soon as I finish redecorating the guest cabin, daaahling!
My ideal life fantasy has a lot of overlap with braak and burningupasun's. Right now it's that I move to an organic lavender farm in Vermont (most of Vermont is outside the appropriate climate for growing lavender, but not in this fantasy), where I have a pack of rescued dogs (mostly pit bulls and hounds with friendly eyes), plus a bunch of pygmy goats and maybe a pig because I feel like the pig would understand me on a level that the dogs and goats couldn't. And an outdoor cat to keep things in order. The house is very cozy and colorful and has a lot of quilts and fireplaces and books and a sunroom and a cuddle room that's just cushions everywhere.
