Strange the Dreamer has been added to my TBR (though it's not on the list for my post). I'm totally going to get on the horn to my local YA librarian to make sure we get it. Happy reading!

I loved the discrimination commentary in Seraphina. I finished Shadow Scale recently, and loved the conversation between Seraphina and Abdo where Seraphina is working on her Porphorian and having trouble with gender. Abdo tells her that she's supposed to ask people, "How may I pronoun you." Such a great line about not making assumptions about people's gender. Great list! If you're interested, here's mine.

I've wanted to read some Holly Black, ever since Zombies vs. Unicorns. Thanks for the suggestions. If you're interested, here's mine.

I loved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. I had a really hard time getting into the Una LaMarche book -- I read reviews that suggested that the male lead was a flat character, which just made me sad. Great list. If you're interested, here's mine.

I felt a little opposite on a few -- I LOVED Shatter Me. So much that I'm mad at the person who has it checked out from the library still. But the writing in The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer got in the way of the story for me. It might be English-major snobbishness, but the writing totally turned me off. If you read it and enjoy it, that's fantastic (I'm not being sarcastic here. I really do hope you enjoy the story.)

You've got some great series on your list and I wish you happy reading.

I think The Great Gatsby is also pretty popular because so many high school students in the US were made to read it. I know I wouldn't have been as excited about the movie had it not been for the fact that I read it as a 16 year old and I wanted to revisit that part of my educational upbringing.

I loved the Baz Luhrman Gatsby. And Romeo + Juliet (though someone stole my DVD). Great list.
