Those trailers are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing them - I've been encouraging my whole twitter feed to go and see them too :)

When my son was given to me, after a long, difficult and (at the end) dangerous birth, he had a hat on. One of the first things I said to him was 'babies come with hats'.

I was too young to vote in a huge referendum vote in Australia (to become a Republic) by a month. It annoyed me greatly because my friends who got to vote had no opinion and were just voting the same way their parents voted - and I actually had an opinion on it and couldn't vote.

My first election ended up being a very boring council one (Australian elections are all over the place, though they're starting to put set terms in place for some of them)

This episode has an extra layer of horror for those who watched it when it was screened in Australia - it was screened on September 11, 2001. During one of the ad breaks, the (obviously shaken) late night news person delivered the news about New York, then they went back to the episode and Mrs Landingham died, then back to a night full of horrific real life news. It was always incredibly difficult to watch the video tape I'd recorded of that episode (though, helpful to my sister who had been on a camp retreat, and knew nothing until 3 or 4 days later)

I live in Australia, and one of my strangest experiences during my teacher training was going to a school where the Lord's Prayer was a part of the school assembly - right after the national anthem and before the school creed - and no one ever questioned it!

I love your teacher aide idea. Also more autonomy for teachers. You go to university, learn how to do cool teacher stuff, learn lots of educational philosophies. Then you go into schools and get told to do everything the way they want it done . . . which often opposes what we know about effective education

I'd include a picture of my beautiful son on the front!
