Methinks that we're going to learn a lot more about duels in this book than any of us ever knew.

Enjoying it so far here too. Evident that Chernow knows Washington well too, seeing as he wrote the tome about him also.

I discovered Attica Locke this year too and like you, read all of her books. My favorite too was The Cutting Season.

You're really rolling on the reviews there, Melissa. Very nice. I'll have to get check out a few here later.

I am glad to see you back. The readathon helped my reading too this month. When you say "required reading," is that for a class or for reviews? I'm just curious.

So did you like To Kill A Mockingbird?

As for not blogging, don't beat yourself up about it. It happens and it's not a crime. At least, you're here now. :)

Whew. You have been busy here on the blog, haven't you? :) Myself, I got one extra post in this week, which is a bonus for me as I usually only have one post per week: The Sunday Salon post and that's it.

You know that I'm all about the free range reading, but reading for money? Nothing wrong with that either.

I love Overdrive and we have a similar thing here with the Free Library of Philadelphia in that any resident with a library card from another library can get a library card from there. Luckily, though, we don't have to go there to get it, though. I've had mine for a few years and am so glad I do. So many more choices via Overdrive.

Freaks and Geeks is one of my wife's favorites...and also one of mine too. It was, and is, such an underrated show. Glad you were able to share it with Tall Paul.

As for how I'm spending this summer Sunday, I'm reading Sunday Salon and other book bloggish posts this morning, might do some reading this afternoon, and watch NASCAR and/or NFL with a neighbor tonight. All in all, it should be a good day and I already mowed the lawn yesterday so don't have to think about that.

I think spending time with family and friends is more than a valid excuse not to be reading. I wish I had such an excuse. :) Mine this past month was more from watching too much NCIS on Netflix, to be honest.

I'm not going to lie. I liked The Corrections and so did my wife. "He's a tool," she says, "but I liked the book." I agree.

Anyway, about book purging: congratulations. I did some of this a few years ago and it felt great. We still need to do it again on a smaller scale, but when I look over at our shelves now, I don't feel that same sense of anxiety I once felt and I'm sure you feel the same way, looking at your shelves. I also donated a lot to the library for our book sale.
