Another way is to listen to people and let them express their heart to you. This also works in church leadership, where instead of just requiring people to listen to the preacher, the people themselves are allow to share publicly what God is doing in their lives and the preacher listens to them.

If we stay in touch with the witness of the Spirit in our heart, we will experience God's unity when we meet Christan sisters and brothers. The Spirit bears witness of who belongs to HIm.

If we use our mind, alone, to figure out who is a Christian, we will stay confused and sectarian.
