I tried to read The Hobbit too but it bored me. I loved Fellowship of the Ring though! TKAM and Jane Eyre are two of my favorites!
I loved both The Hate U Give and Cinder. A few of your others are already on my wish list.
Florinda, great post - and not just because I'm in it ;) You are always spot on with topics. Blogging is such a personal thing isn't it? We all do it for different reasons and have different breaking points. I never did accept many review copies and that has helped keep the pressure off over the years for sure. I've always posted about lots of different things and the first few years after Gage was born I wrote some of my favorite blog posts ever about motherhood. I went back and read them all last year on his birthday and it was another reminder of why I do this.
Both of those books look excellent. Enjoy!
It's good to see you back, Jenny. You are missed around these parts! I'll be checking out your new digs :)
Reading slumps are not good for book bloggers! I find that the pressure of the blog can be a good thing in this instance. I feel like I must have something to talk about so I keep picking up books until I find one I can't put down! This sometime means I have several going at once.
I've only read a few graphic novels and they've never really stuck with me. I haven't read any of these so maybe that's why :)
It's always hard to find our blogging footing when our lives change. I started in 2008 and have had a kid since then. Do what works for you but don't give it up :)
Katniss and Hemoine would be my top two choices!
I never really thought about the different kinds of series either. I always hesitate to pick up the first of a trilogy (even though I just reviewed one today!) because it's such a commitment. I do like to follow a beloved character through a series (Jack Reacher, Lincoln Rhyme...). Given the choice I'd really just prefer one book that stands on its own, BUT reading a series is comforting like visiting with an old friend.
