These words literally speak life into the small town pastor! Thank you Ron for the article and wisdom behind it.
Love the point/quote, "Pastors lead...but ultimately God is in control." Great thoughts...thank you for sharing. I will share to help others.
Excellent post Ron! I needed to read this today. What is your recommendation when leadership is not just elder statesmen in your church but when it is a leader (pastor) that is close to retirement but actually "too tired" to lead but still wants to maintain control over everything?
Dan - good post concerning goals! I was hoping to see a few more specifics as to how you plan on reaching your goals. I wrote a post about said subject on the 31st. Would love your thoughts - spirituallyrelevant.wordpress.com. Happy New Year!
Outstanding! Thank you for using a good illustration (anything with sports has to be good) and applying it Scripturally.
Well stated. I think we could say that David was living the principles of Matthew 5:43-48 long before it was written. Thank you for writing this article!
This is so good Ron! I like that the article emphasizes when we have offended someone else. All too often, we are so concerned when others have offended us. I recently posted an article entitled, "The Hard Path to Reconciliation." Would love your thoughts on it but don't want to take advantage of your audience here on your website.
Pastor Dan - enjoyed the article and I know they are true because I have lived them. As a pastor for nine years of a smaller church in upstate New York, I saw these truths hit their mark time after time when applied. As my current pastor has said, "A house-going pastor makes for a church-going people." I love the way your article conveys the importance of church members investing in the lives of others in their church. Thank you for writing this article!
Wow - this is quite convicting Ron! I have seen at least three of the four truths presented here at work in my life over the years. I firmly believe underlying all of these principles is the hidden, sinister face of pride. Pride is most deceitful when he couches himself behind all of the "good works" he is doing for God or business. Thank you for this article...it has already helped me.
