Ahhh yes, the talking a bit and making faces and kind of running. Except I might just...jump a bit? Like, if I'm imagining something exciting and active, I move my body around a bit.

IDK you guys, I'm so sad the toast is going, because literally the first time I ever told anyone was my therapist last week. And he was all THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL, but I've never ever seen other Real Live Humans talking about it.

Man, my interior fantasy life is wicked cool. It's bits from every book and movie I ever liked, but better and I'm in it.

AHH GAME OF THRONES

Between Cersei, Danearys, Yara, Sansa, Whatserface in Dorne and the Queen of Thorns, we finally have what we need for the War of the Five Queens.

Also, does Varys have a goddamn teleporter?

Unrelated, but how would one go about getting a job like yours?

I am deeply grateful for the Observer for publishing this never-ending trainwreck. I think my favourite bit was, after *savagely trashing* the editor assigned to his piece, cc'ing the entire masthead (!) to call her a liar (!!!) and calling her "power angry" (??), he said:

"The interview published in ELLE this month is surprisingly tight, concise and actually quite good. [...] Anne discarded the text I had written entirely but not before she stole its structures and plagiarized its ideas."

Which translates to: someone worked heroically hard to salvage your garbage-fire of an article.

I will co-sign the goodness of Kiama beaches, but also point out that Jervis Bay in general has, no-fooling, some of the best beaches in the world.

I mean, there's nuthin' else going on, but I do miss the beaches.

Just throwing it out there, I picked up a decent replica of that exact chair and ottoman (in firetruck red!) for about $250, from a guy off Gumtree. It is, indeed, super comfortable.

(His dad had given him a bunch of furniture and for some reason he didn't want it??? Whatever dude, I'll take it off your hands.)

Job hunting sucks! I was exactly where you were after I graduated, I spent a year and bit looking for work. It was crazy discouraging, but I ended up getting my DREAM JOB two months ago, at a place where I interned, then temped a couple of times.

I'm not sure how if this translates to your industry, but unless grad school is necessary for entry level jobs, staying in the workforce is much, much more useful than going back to uni. While I was looking, I volunteered as a media officer for a non-profit and at a youth radio network, freelanced and worked in cafes. Try lots of things, and one of them will work. Anything that lets you meet (and impress) people in the your area is a good thing. Good luck!

I was so upset by That Scene that I emailed the author in a rage. He wrote back, saying that it was a scene he thought a lot about, consulted with a lot of people about and, on balance, thought was important enough to the story and the character to include.

I don't really agree with him, but knowing it was something he'd cared about let me read the third book. YMMV.

I thought these bargain bins were just harmless fun. I'm in Australia, I thought. I can't impulse-buy anything, I thought. I make independent purchasing decisions, I thought.

Then I clicked back into this bargain bin and realised why I bought a pair of shiny gold loafers yesterday. No regrets! Tell me what to buy next, Jane!
