Yay! Thank you again. For everything. I delurked around the time my mother died. This site may have actually saved me from myself and my grief.

The love is mutual, but I'm not leaving. You may not be here, but I'll be lurking in the archives and quietly weeping indefinitely.

Oh, you feel it the next day.

Thank YOU! Also, I'm not really sure where to ask this, but since you mentioned the wonderful (and extremely rare) comments section, it seems a good a place as any. Are you all going to be able to lock the comments sections on these pieces so that we can still read them? I'd hate to see all the fantastic comments disappear, but I think it would actually be worse watching our beloved comment section be taken over by trolls....

I was in a Scottish bar in Paris surrounded by strangers watching the election coverage. When they announced he'd won, a big group of drunk guys started singing the Star Spangled Banner and EVERYONE joined in. Then he went on to make a speech that mentioned LGBTQ+ rights, and I'd never heard an American president speak about us so positively before, so I started to cry. I'm not sure I've ever been prouder to be an American (and, let's face it, sometimes I'm a little embarrassed--see: every mass shooting) than I was that night.

I hear you. :( My father was never much of a presence in my life and continues not to be to the point that I can't always handle reading the Dad Magazine comment section because that has NOT been my experience and it makes me sad. You have my sympathy/empathy and virtual hugs if you want them.
