Home in Dallas (Highland Park), lake house in Brands Crossing (town founded by ancestors).
Grandfather head of development/construction/management company in Dallas (family company). Native Texan--ancestors go back to War of Independence with Mexico. After retirement move permanently to Brands Crossing, becomes involved in local politics.
Grandmother gardener, cook, book lover. Grew up in New Orleans. Ancestors early French plantation owners in Louisiana.
Grandparents married over fifty years when grandfather died after car crash.

As far as the eating disorder, I imagine the earliest signs of the disease would be a sudden weight loss and an obsessive-compusive interest in appearance and dietary control.

I'm glad to see this issue investigated in a YA book.
