I had a friend tell me to use this 'test' to determine if a name is 'ok' - picture the name as someone about to go on a blind date... and picture the name on a lawyer. So basically, does this name sound like someone who could be fun and easy to get along with, as well as possibly professional?

The second one is beautiful and would be a great choice - it's also a classic baby pose, though, and I've seen it before... the 6th one down is also great - a little more unique, and Aurelia looks intelligent and contemplative in it... which is very cool!

This is so true! It never occurred to me how my insecurities didn't go away - they just changed! I don't care so much about how I look either, but if my daughter throws a tantrum in public 'What if people think i'm the worst mother ever!!!' :)

Sometimes I'm in a hurry, and having 'help' just totally slows me down - but I never want to discourage it, either! It's so cute!!

Our daughter does this too! She says 'Thank You' if she's giving something, or taking it... it's adorable! I'm sure she'll 'get it' soon...

That's so interesting! I have friends who will say 'Don't look!' if they hear or see their kid get hurt - saying 'She doesn't like it if you notice!'. So I don't think your daughter is strange... no advice though...

Definitely 'Super Why' in our house too! We only let C watch it on weekends, but she'll wake up in the mornings and if Daddy is still home (often he's gone when she wakes up on weekdays), she will ask for 'Wee-a-Why?'. It's too cute!

My aunt had 4 sons, and the youngest did the same thing - constantly grabbed for her coffee mug until she (he was about 9 months old at the time) decided to let him have a sip, thinking he would certainly hate it and leave her alone from then on... Nope! This boy is now 11 years old, and will STILL drink BLACK coffee occasionally because he likes it! He also seems to have turned into a bit of a 'food' person, has decided he wants to be a chef when he grows up and has started cooking gourmet meals for his 6-person family comprised almost entirely of teenaged boys. Did I mention he's 11? It's a sign of great things to come, I'm sure ;)

My daughter decided early that she needed a soother, but wouldn't take silicone pacifiers (or, 'gummy's' as we've come to call them) and we needed to buy the latex ones. These are harder to find, since they're more likely to trigger allergies - and they also wear out faster which means we had to check them OFTEN. We tried to always keep at least a half dozen in the house as 'back-ups', but there were some days we had to rush around the city trying to find a pack of latex 'gummy's' because my daughter had either lost or worn all of hers... sigh...
