VT, when you say things like

"PP attracts the most vile, short-sighted, idiotic of players. For the betterment of mankind, it's important that you gather in your own clubs, where only warmachine is ever played, so that I won't have my games cut by morons who start frothing and ranting about how marine on marine is dumb, Ward has ruined what you once loved (protip: it was Jervis, Gav, and Alessio), then randomly start raving about prices. "

you sound an awful like those vile, short-sighted, idiotic players. I understand that you don't like Warmachine and that's OK. It's a very different game than Warhammer 40K and there are bound to be people who like one and not the other. And I can understand why you're frustrated with other players who aggressively push you towards a game you don't like. If I were you, I'd be frustrated too.

But those vile, short-sighted, idiotic players are the exception, not the rule. The majority of players in any system are reasonable, polite people who make great opponents, game clubs, and online communities. I think you know this, even if you aren't letting on here. When you slap these people with insults, misrepresent their enthusiasm with straw men, and then casually dismiss their unhappy responses, you do yourself, and this site, a huge disservice.

I apologize for my ignorance, I've only encountered the Imperial Guard once. What do these abbreviations mean?

My best guesses:

CCS: Company Command Squad
AC: Assault Cannon (?)
HF: Heavy Flamer
ML: Multi-Laser (?)
PBS: Peanut-Butter Sandwich (?)
PCS: Platoon Command Squad
PW: Power Weapon
HB: Heavy Bolter

Edit: Missed one.

LRBT: Leman Russ Battle Tank (?)

Thanks.

Thanks, Kirby!

I've been thinking about the same kind of army list myself (minus the Interceptors requirement). That way I have a solid base of troops assembled and painted before I jump into the vehicles. After some messing about in Excel, here's what I came up with:

1500 (1290) -
Librarian with Might, Sanctuary, Shrouding, Summoning, 2 Skulls
10 GK Terminators with 2 Psycannons, 5 Halberds, 2 Hammers
2x 10 GK Strike Squad with 2 Psycannons, Psybolt Ammo, 1 Hammer
Dreadknight with Heavy Incinerator

With the last 210 points I was thinking about adding another Dreadknight, giving Psybolt ammo to the terminators and MCing a couple hammers. But I'm also tempted to add Karamazov instead.

Since the whole army's already on foot, he won't be the only model left out in the cold. And it it'd be nice to have that Multimelta. I also like the idea of using no-scatter Orbital Strikes on the other Dreadknight. In a lot of cases, I think Karamazov might run with the 5 halberd-wielding terminators. With Hammerhand, Might and his Rad grenades, that would give them I6 and Str6(7), which could be fun.
