When my kids were young I did devotions with them and had them memorize scripture, always trying to make it fun and relatable to what they were going through. It was a wonderful time. I had this book series called "Alice In Bibleland" and they loved it. The books gave us lots to discuss about stories in the Bible and then we would look them up.
