How do you pick ONE favorite summer memory? I guess the best part of just about every summer since I was 10 is the HUGE fourth of July festival my town has every year. its always hot and over-crowded but its SOOO fun! Parades, crafts, music, fireworks and of course food!

I am taking a storytelling class and a creative writing class and both are inspiring to right down/tell my stories and to start asking to hear people's stories and telling them. Jeff Goins is really awesome would love a copy of his book

I loved this so much. I agree for me wearing my heart on my sleeve is the only thing that I can do to be able to comfort and love on broken people.

I have learned what forgiveness is not this year. It is not accepting what happened to you is okay and acceptable. It is not ignoring what happened to you. Instead it is a powerful choice that brings so much freedom and takes the load you are carrying, and gives it to Jesus.

that is gold.

I started crying just reading the title of the post... I was abandoned by my parents when I was young too and still struggle with forgiving my mother. It was so much easier to forgive the dad I never knew and even my mom's boyfriends who were abusive to me as a child. But forgiving my mom has been so entirely different and i still struggle with it.

I've always said I am 'technically' and orphan, but I have the best Father there is.
Thanks for sharing your story your bravery is encouraging.

SOO good, sooo much truth!! I learned to never settle, even if his family is wonderful. and I learned to take care of myself and my relationship with God above a boy. <3
