Same. I have had many of the same realizations. But the toughest one has been that..my lifestyle hasn't changed much. Which is good in a way. But also, problematic? I don't know what to think honestly. As of now I have resigned myself to wait patiently for this to be over.

Oh I am not the best with names or faces. But the problem is I don't completely forget them also. I usually have a vague recollection. And that means I spend a lot of time to try and fit the puzzle pieces together. Until someone else comes and helps me out.

Which is usually my 8 year old. He is really good with names. So these days as soon as I meet a new person, I go and tell him the name of that person. And something about the person too. Essentially I'm using my child as a ready reference guide in this case. :P

Oh I did not realize you hadn't read P&P. But I guess in a way it's good in this case, because this one sticks too close to the original storyline. It was the only drawback for me. That there was hardly any deviation from the original story. But I now see that it will work as a positive for the ones who haven't read P&P.

Love your southern spiced series! You make reading about the mundane so very fun!

Aaahhh... SOUL SISTER!!

I can say ditto to every single thing you wrote, and I mean that literally. Everything except that I am the only directionally challenged person in my family. Nobody, literally nobody is this bad. My mum actually is pretty great. Better than anyone else I know. She's the one with the photographic memory!

But as far as I am concerned..from not going anywhere new for the first time by myself & not venturing outside the familiar radius to not even attempting to trek or go out in the night by myself..and getting lost in familiar territory, even with a GPS and all - ditto, ditto, ditto!!

I don't know which particular list you are talking about. I routinely make it to some and don't make it to most others. And have never figured out why or why not. But either way I have realized most (if not all) of them honestly mean nothing. So dear lady, you are really missing nothing. But I think you already know that. :)

That being said, this post was HILARIOUS. :D

Your interesting account of your walk makes me consider keeping my headphones home for one of my walks. Because it's been ages since I have done that, and just people or nature watched. Usually I zone out listening to a good audiobook or a podcast on my walk.

I have missed reading you, Kala. So welcome back.

Oh and I can relate with a lot in this post, as I grew up in Mumbai. But I have to say it was easier on me because I wasn't the parent back then. :D

That being said, while in US, it's winters I dread the most, my only challenge for the summer is keeping the little one reasonably occupied without losing my sanity.
