I'm an early-to-bed person too although I'd gotten into a bad habit of staying up too late ... consistently. I've been better at getting to bed around 10:30 lately - now to continue that trend!! It's hard because my husband is a HUGE night owl. I think he'd stay up until 4am every morning if he could.

I just read the synopsis for the book you mention. It sounds SO good. Four years. Wow. I'd love to do something like that someday. My husband and I have talked about taking a year in England when the youngest goes to university. Not exactly the same thing, but along those lines anyway :)

My kids had teeth pulled this week - the 8 year-old had two and the 7 year-old had FOUR. The tooth fairy was sympathetic and therefore very generous this visit!
