I'm on a 2gb/month AT&T plan. There isn't a distinction between speeds, but I don't really care because my town doesn't have LTE and likely won't for a while. I get LTE when I'm somewhere else, and I get not-LTE at home, which is cool because not-LTE (it says 4G but it's basically just 3G overdosed on energy drinks) is still faster than my internet at home (hooray for rural living). I don't often have issues with going over my plan because I make a point to be on wifi whenever possible, and in general I don't do craaaaazy data-hungry things like streaming video unless I'm on wifi. Which is fine because I seldom have a pressing need to do data-hungry things when I'm out and about. I'll check social media or browse some sites or whatever but that's all pretty normal stuff that doesn't use gobs of data. In over two years on a 2gb plan I think I've gone over once. Since I got my iPhone 5 my data usage has gone up much more than I expected and I don't know why -- I'm still doing the same stuff -- but since I'm almost always on wifi it's no big deal. And I don't want to switch data plans unless I have to because the 2gb is no longer available, so if I switch away (to the more expensive 3gb plan) I won't be able to go back.

And I don't understand people who TALK on smartphones. Come ON. Texting is the greatest invention OF ALL TIME. The internet is pretty spiffy too. Talking on the phone is so 1990s.

As adults we miss out on being rewarded for sitting quietly through haircuts and for using the toilet instead of our pants. This is yet another way childhood is superior to adulthood.
