Nice. Thanks for sharing. It's the informal encounters that are often most touching.
Very nice. It reminds me of the Jewish saying: "Why does God not speak to man face to face as He did with Moses and the Prophets?"... "Because modern man will not bow low enough to hear God."
I understand completely. I'm STILL in the learning curve with the Wacom tab and GIMP. Mostly what I do is cartoon line drawings and really basic photo tweaking so I haven't really had to plumb the depths of brushes, color and painting. I have NO clue about vectors. I'm sure there are youtube videos on all this stuff, but any serious program has a steep learning curve and until I'm pushed to the wall, I hang with what I know too. :)
Nice post. My 13 years have been a rollercoaster but even with all of the weirdness and beat downs and disappointments I can't go back. You're right: the best benefit is the constant reality check of my soul. Many years!
A very good reason to miss blogging! Have you gotten your Wacom tablet yet? :)
"Bully ourselves out of old behavior"... excellent. I haven't been able to. Unfortunately it is difficult to pray too.
Awesome post and discussion. Personally I am skeptical of EVERYONE, including the Orthodox. I've been around enough goofiness in every tradition to know no one has a corner on the market when it comes to misguided, delusional, egomaniacal weirdness. I can sign on to "dogmatic truth" but I cannot accept some of the off the wall responses to it and call it "good". The "AWESOME" protestant pastor and the monkabee weekend role playing Renaissance Festival Orthodox subdeacon are the same person. And may God have mercy on us all.....
