To this I say, SPEAK OUT, my love, SPEAK OUT, and continue to spread your well considered good sense and honesty. It is one of the many reasons I adore you. :standing ovation:
Right! And particularly with first books in series, there is often a lot of laying of groundwork for stuff that isn't going to be relevant until much later. That can be really frustrating as a reader!
Absolutely. One of my BFFs refuses to even start reading series until the whole thing is out for exactly that reason!
It seems like there just aren't that many, at least among currently published stuff. And I'm sure that's a genre thing too.
Well they don't know each other before the story so a prequel is out. I was going to do just a little fluff piece for Valentine's Day but I just...got nothin'...
Well I haven't read Catching the Rose yet, but I am certain that you treated the subject with the exact right amount of reality. I've come to expect that of your historicals. I live in the deep south, Mississippi to be exact, and racism is a topic that (sadly) still comes up with regularity (usually by people not from here who are sticking their nose in to find problems that aren't actually problems). Absolutely racism is horrible. Certainly slavery was deplorable. But for God's sake, we can't go back and change history and we certainly SHOULDN'T ignore it. That's how history gets repeated. So I say bravo to you for sticking to your guns and portraying things accurately.
OMG THANK YOU! That would have taken me AGES to figure out (largely because I can't seem to stand FB for longer than 5 minutes and just leave before actually accomplishing anything--getting my Networked Blogs thumbnail updated tonight was an ordeal). No idea when I'll actually DO IT, but I am bookmarking this so I know HOW!
Dude, can you like, write a tutorial on how to do that? Because I just looked at it (and I'm no computer dummy) and I'm like "huh?"
