I loved your series and seeing you get so invested in the Alias universe! I'm disappointed there haven't been too many comments, because there's so much to talk about with this show!

I do have some fanfic recommendations --my favorite fanfics are all by Yahtzee, and can be found on AO3. Yahtzee is especially good with really believable alternate universes:

The Prophet's Right Hand: "In 1972, CIA officer Jack Bristow is given an assignment to go to the Soviet Union to meet, seduce and marry KGB agent Irina Derevko."

Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow): "Two years after the events of the series finale, Sydney encounters another Rambaldi artifact that takes her on the strangest journey of all." Time travel to the 70s is involved, y'all!

Also good ones from Yahtzee:

"Subterranean Homesick Blues"
"What Julia Knew" (note the content warnings)
"The Twelfth of Never"

IDK I've never gone wrong with any of their stories.

Watching this when it aired was BANANAS, Mark. There was nothing like it (even as someone who had watched 4 seasons of BtVS before it and had lived through The Great Gap Before the BtVS Season Three Finale). It hooked me so good that I continued watching Alias S3 even through starting college that fall, even though I had to go down to the common tv lounge every Sunday night to watch it (with strangers who ignored me and NEVER offered their snacks).

Oh definitely! I didn't mean to blame you or anything like that, I apologize if the comment came off otherwise.

I hope the rest of the comment(s) above helped more!

Hmmm...maybe you could email the coordinators saying, "This person's comments may be detrimental to those trying to vote and may discourage a diversity of poll workers in the future," or something like that. Put the focus not on your own discomfort (which is totally valid!), but on how this could hurt others and keep them from participating in the democratic process. I mean, poll workers should appear impartial and business-like, yes? A person who repeatedly uses racist language and slurs is not someone I would trust to handle my (liberal) vote carefully. I haven't had any personal experience using this tactic, but it has worked for people in other situations.

Maybe next time you could also try shutting her down yourself: http://www.askamanager.org/2015/11/my-new-coworke...

Ugh, I'm so sorry you've got so much on your plate.

I wish I could give you advice on either problem. I was a kid who had UTIs when I was little, and then they resurfaced when I was 13, after taking my first bath with bath salts (instead of shower) that I ever remember. They eventually went away after I gave up on ever having a bath again, although every once in a while I would get another bladder infection. Or, at least, that's what I thought until I went to an urgent care place in a new city as an adult, and was told that there was no sign of infection, so I probably just have a sensitive and easily irritated bladder (yay?).

I'm sorry that doesn't seem to be the case with your kiddo, and I hope you and her and the doctors can find a real solution soon. I know from experience that while it's not fun to be a sick kid...it's probably 10,000 times worse for you than it is for her. In the end I'm much more horrified (looking back) by how awful it must have been for my parents to shepherd me to doctor's appointments and blood tests and MRIs in the face of the unknown, than I was by my own experience at the time.

As for your oversleeping teens? IDK. My natural wake-up back then was about 11-1, but I got up with an alarm (a Cd that allowed me to wake up slowly) on most days, with an occasional reminder from my dad. my parents are kinda robotic, tho. i love them, but it's hard to live up to how efficient they are as humans.

(virtual hugs if you want them)

it's fucking beautiful.

as a texan who graduated in the top 10% (but did not go to UT for other reasons), I've enjoyed everything about this. What a spoiled baby. You should have worked harder in high school instead of fucking around, Abby!
